Woops its been awhile

Christmas is only 4 days away and I havnt started christmas shopping!! lol! I have no money anyway - I just used it (not wasted it) to get tickets for me and bren to supergroove + Elemeno P on boxing day AND the feelers at Waihi on NY eve! Lasy year we couldn't go (we were only 17) but now the only thing we CANT do being 18 is go to a casino! Which is probably a good thing.
I don't know if cruize is coming to the beach with me yet - im guessing if he does we will go over on xmas eve and come back the monday after NY? Hes not very fit tho so I can't really take him for long gallops on the beach. Hes in 100000xxxx better condition this summer than last tho (weight wise)

Anyway, I feel honored as geegees asked (but more like let me :D) do sonic and annies morning "shifts" while she is away this w/e with Bowie at Taupo (GO BOWIE!) Sonic is the lil filly with a spermy on her head and enough attitude for her and atleast 2 more foals! She was a twin (but other foal died about 3 months before she was born) and was born 2 weeks early (on the same morning as the cute lil palo foal a few posts down). She is just starting to accept me into her box with her happy face on (eg ears FORWARD) cos she had taken to backing up and (after a good few seconds getting her balance and preparing) would hunch her lil bum and just get off the groud. She got me once - well I think she did - it was so pathetically cute! :D

Anyway I took a few photos of her thismorning - but they all turned out pretty bad, when she was on the grass. She is very small and looked like she was growing to me when she was in the stable but she is still a lil bugger. (I am seriously considering stealing her)

Cruize Kicks Ass!

I forgot to update this last (thurs? I think) when me and a friend went to AR and were jumping the lil XC jumps. Cruize hadnt jumped more than the odd Xrail at home for AGES. Anyway, first jump I did in the dressage saddle (I don't have a jumping one) and I fell off lol!! So I did the rest bareback. Cruize jumped ANYTHING i pointed him at! He was great. he loved it too and was easy to stop! Also I only fell off one more time over a random jump that he took off too early then did a funny ump so thats ok lol

BUT even more exciting!! Yesterday me and Gina went to LVF to ride (i've never actually ridden there before, and only been there once) after Gina rode (her lovely big mare) she let me use her jumping saddle (Gina rocks!) which didn't fit too badly. Considering poor cruize is incredibly unfit, he did pretty well. Was a bit silly and wanted to go round with his head in the air, but was jumping good (ish). He stopped at a few things, which was totally my fault because I wasnt commited. But anyway gina made me jump a few things I would never even consider!! lol! She took frikn awesome as photos, so now I finally have some cool as photos of cruize jumping!! I think i'm going to have to go out there more often.

ALSO!!!! Cruize is apprently AUSTRALIAN!!! I thought he was by Famous Star out of starring, but apprently hes not. So hopefully going to find out who my Cruizeamas's real parents are lol

I had my leavers dinner last night. Offically the last time I will be surrounded by all those people. YAY!! lol

Cruize went lame for a day or 2, but is ok again now. Silly horse. I rode him for the first time in ages and he was actually really good. Can't wait to get him fit and get a jumping saddle!
Also ATM ive been trying to teach him to smile (for the last 3 weeks)
We had a break through last night. He picked up his lip without me touching it! Considering at the start he wouldn't even twitch it when I touched it - we have come along way! lol I am proud of myself for not giving up on this trick - like I have with so may others. So this "holiday" (not sure where it ends lol) I WILL teach him to stand on the box, spanish walk and bow with me on him - along with smile. Because just bowing and picking up his legs aint that impressive. Thats about it. :)

Alot Happened in a short time!!

First, Rip lil Silas. :( Atleast you can be with your horse mum now, even tho your human family loved you like nothing else.

Second, SCHOOL OVER FOREVER!! It is thee best feeling in the world! I can't believe it is finally actually over!!!

Third, They cut + baled the paddock!!! YAY! Now I have somewhere to ride! I just hope the grass takes off before another drought sets in :(

Fourth, Got me the most awesome job working for wonderful lady and with amazing horses! (Bowie!!) Had my first day yesterday, I mucked up a bit, and learnt soo much. The major thing I learnt was I knew NOTHING about horses lol. Oo And Broodmares are not ordinary horses lol!

Fifth, my bro gets back from Canada today, where he has been for the past year lol!

Sixth, I an't spell sandwhich OMG I JUst spelt it!!! Actually! wow go me lol

TWO EXAMS LEFT

English went like crap lol Couldn't of been much worse.

So I went and did some mroe of this - tho that was thismorning, trying not to think about Geo schl exam I have in an hour and a half.

You can't really study for Geo S, but I did get given some random helpful hints (On paper).
Turns out I left them at my friends place.
Good one me.

Cruize rocks.

Just a little random bit.

Im avoiding studing for english exam this avo (bio done now)
but yesterday Cruize bucked me off!!!

He NEVER bucks (well never untill this years spring grass! He had a few random spazzes at my friends place) but He was just trotting along at AR, admittly a bid tense then bam! Im on the ground lol! That must be the like 4th time i've ever fallen off him! (that doesnt count the times I've gone to get on and gone all the way over lol that happens alot).
I was very shocked.
He never bucks like that - barely even in the paddock.
The rest of the time he continued on fine - still tense for the rest of the ride but it was good to get to ride aswell as be out of his paddock.

Bottom photo is a nice-ish trotting one. Typical crappy background tho. But then again, you can't see his legs in the rest of the paddock - its all glass! (I love him even if he is very downhill lol!)

First Exam Tomorrow!

School has finished for me forever YUUSSSS but I still have 4 exams starting tomorrow.
So today I decided I would study for my bio exam with Cruize - afterall he exhibits some random things we study in Bio, and he'd LOVE to know how he was made (the meiosis thing not the physical making of Cruize!)

I also decided to test his taxis responses. (I think I might be wrong here - but thats ok cos it sounds like im talking about bio)
These were both negative thigmotaxis and positive (foodness)taxis.
I don't think they actually were but thats ok:)

Anyway we did a few tricks, and I was testing out my cameras reaction speed time using the far away remote button thingy. It was really hard to get it at the point where Cruizes leg was the heightest, which is why i ended up with only a few photos.
Cruize was very good - I started off using a whip but he showed me pretty quickly he didnt need it. We even go a bit of piaff going for awhile. We also started some halfpass (he left the hindlegs still though) lol

13 years at school and I still can't spell 'helmate'

Woops I totally forgot I had a blog! Maybe im not cut out for blogging?

Only 7 days left of school for the rest of my life!!
For this reason my poor horse i practically being neglected ATM.
He is barely being ridden, as I am rushing through unfinished assignments to get much needed credits before school ends. I have exams from the 17 Nov till my last on the 26th. Only 4 exams for me, which is a heck of a lot less that most of my friends!

Because of this, my photography has practically been put on hold.

I have been looking forward to taking photos at Rotorua Horse Trials since I new it was on.
Didn't even get to go which SUCKED because I found out my graphics assingment is due on Tuesday. I started it on friday. Thats 4 days to do an assignment I have had around 70 days to complete. Shit.
I am getting there tho, and will have it finished by tuesday. Maybe even at a higher standard than my usual halfassed. YAY!

May be going to Oto ODE on the 23rd (to take photos) but it is in the middle of my exams so it will depend on how my study (I wonder what that means?) is going.

Here is a totally random photo of Cruize from summer. I call it the baywatch/yanking the poor bugger photo. (He actually was having fun I swear! It was just taken after I jumped a ditch and ran up a hill, then tried to stop him from taking off.)
For all you helmate people - I was wearing a helmate (I really can't spell. 13 years at school and I can't spell helmate!) for the most part of this ride.

Blog?

After following I don't know howmany other blogs I decided to start my own. Not that is will be anywhere near as exciting as other peoples, but thats ok. :)

Cruize (pictured) is a 11y/o TB gelding (Bright bay) who I got when he just turned 8 (In August 2005) ((Shoot I didn't realise it was that long ago!) Basicly we just muck around. He has the most terrible jumping style, piegon toes and a slight dish, makinh im pretty much as untalented as they get.

He apprently won both of his trials as a racehorse though, and then got sold and never had a real race.

I won't be competing much this season due to trying to get my photography going (www.geegee.co.nz) but if I do it will only be dressage days (hoping to get over 65% in novice - which would be a big achievment for us) and training level eventing.

Cruize does have a few things going for him.He is incredibly quiet and loveable, more bulky than your average TB (making him a bit more striking) he has a half decent head, and he can do tricks! He currently bows and picks up all legs on command (working towards spanish walk). I am hoping to teach him to ly down (eventually) but I think I will skip the teaching him to rear. I'm not that stuipd. :) He is taught with the use of clicker training, which he responds to so well.

I might just follow his clicker training on here. That will keep me motivated. :)

Thats about it I think. I don't think i'm too good at this blog thing. Am I ment to split that up into sepreate blogs? lol
